Capturing the spirit of an early 19th-century salon, this intimate program pairs the music of Ludwig van Beethoven with his brilliant Polish contemporary, Maria Szymanowska. Musicians Greg Ewer (violin), Sarah Rommel (cello), April Sun, and Byron Schenkman (piano) delve into the rich textures of Beethoven’s Allegretto in B-flat Major, his C-major and D-major sonatas, and his Trio in E-flat, threading them into conversation with Szymanowska’s Grande Valse, Serenade, and Divertissement.
